Abstract

The article presents an analysis of students' attitudes towards the COVID-19 pandemic, depending on the value of health. The information base of the study is made up of the results of an applied sociological pilot study conducted by the Institute of Agrarian Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences in November 2020. It was revealed that the high value of health determines not only a preventive model of self-preserving behavior, but also a significant social responsibility of young people. The low value of health, on the other hand, is associated with an underestimation of its possible negative consequences, as well as a weaker adherence to measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The research results can be used to improve strategies to combat epidemics and to develop ways to overcome its social consequences.
