RURAL AND URBAN DIFFERENCES AND STUDENTS' AGE FEARS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Abstract
The article analyzes fears of young people associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the materials of the pilot sociological study, differences in the anxieties of young people were revealed depending on age, place of residence and experience of the disease. The main fears of young people are related to the fear for the health of loved ones, concerns about the availability of necessary medical care for themselves and their relatives, as well as the loss of economic well-being. It is shown that with age, the proportion of those who are more attentive to their health, tend to comply with preventive measures, and rationally perceive the pandemic and the resulting consequences increases. People from rural areas are more careful in observing preventive measures, while city dwellers place higher demands on the quality and availability of medical care during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the study allow a deeper understanding of the specific features of the anxiety states of various social groups of young people, which makes it possible to increase the effectiveness of preventive measures for post-pandemic adaptation.
