CATEGORY "SUCCESSFUL DEVELOPMENT" IN THE CONTEXT OF TRANSITION OF FAMILY HOUSEHOLD IN A PRIVATE FARM: SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND VALUE CONTRADICTIONS

Abstract

The concept “successful development” in the context of small business in the agriculture is interpreted for the first time. The socio-economic paradigm of sustainable development combines three indicators: economic efficiency, balanced growth, environmental protection. These indicators are applied to the assessment of the resources of applicants for grants to owners of rural farmsteads, focused on the creation of private farms. The institutionalization includes three groups of criteria for the potential success of rural residents who intend to develop their own private farms. The first group combines available to the grant applicant starting material resources for the development of the farm. The second group includes the strategic aspects of the farm development project: the creation of at least 10 additional jobs; project payback period; profitability of production after reaching the design capacity. The third group of criteria is the information network resources of the grant applicant: recommendation letters from organizations; membership in an agricultural consumer cooperative / organization; knowledge, skills and competencies of the applicant regarding the factors of successful implementation of the business plan of the farm project. The relationship between the goals and the meanings of what is central to the transition of family households to the private farm is still debatable.
