FAMILY FACTORS OF FORMATION OF MIGRATION INTENTIONS OF RURAL SCHOOL GRADUATES
Abstract
The article presents the results of the analysis of family factors in the formation of migration intentions of rural school graduates. The influence of socio-demographic (composition and structure of the family, marital status) and socio-economic characteristics (level of education and employment status of the interviewed parent, income level, provision of specific property for children) was revealed. The materials of the applied sociological research conducted by the Institute of Agrarian Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2017 show the differences in family prerequisites for the development of certain migration intentions of rural school graduates (focus on moving to the city, on labor migration, and on return to the native village). It was concluded that intentions to return to the home village are poorly distributed, and for certain social groups it is a certain strategy for the living arrangement of children, taking into account the possibilities available to the parents.
