PERSPECTIVE DIRECTIONS OF RESEARCH OF THE PROBLEM OF DEVELOPMENT OF AGRO-FOOD COMPLEX AND RURAL TERRITORIES (based on materials from foreign scientific forums in 2019)
Abstract
The article contains the results of a study of materials of foreign English-language forums in 2019 on agrarian topics. It is shown how the topics of the symposia reflect a wide range of problems of development and changes in modern global society. The author places particular emphasis on studying the events held in the framework of the European Association of Agricultural Economists (EAAE) and the European Association of Regional Science (ERSA). Based on the analysis, promising areas of research for the development of the agro-food complex and rural areas are highlighted. The conclusion is made about the shift of research interests towards a social and humanitarian focus. It was found out that the most promising scientific areas are behavioral economics and cultural economics. Research in the field of digitalization of the economy are also very popular. On the basis of studying the materials of the forums, the main strategic priorities of the development of the agro-food complex and rural areas are determined.
