NEW FACTORS OF FOOD PRICE DYNAMICS

Abstract

The features of the formation of the price environment in the global and domestic food markets during the coronavirus crisis are revealed. Factors of the dynamics of food prices (changes in the exchange rate and the dynamics of world and domestic prices for wheat) are identified. The forecast of the dynamics of these indicators for a short-term perspective is carried out. It is substantiated that the dynamics of world food prices largely depends on the financial market and the financial and speculative factor. The article examines new factors in the growth of food prices during the coronavirus crisis: a break in the emerging intersectoral links in product chains, an acceleration in inflation. Changes in the level and structure of costs and profitability of a business against the background of ruble devaluation are investigated. The necessity of managing the structure of costs to mitigate the influence of factors of growth in food prices is substantiated.
