EXPERT ASSESSMENT OF FEATURES OF AGRICULTURAL FOOD SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT UNDER PANDEMIC CONDITIONS

Abstract

The article discusses the prospects for the development of the agri-food sector based on the analysis of expert opinions and recommendations of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in connection with the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The main reports and documents of FAO of the corresponding profile are systematized, as a result of the study of which global trends, risks and forecasts in the field of food security are described. The main principles and strategic directions of transformation of agri-food systems are highlighted in order to strengthen their resistance to external factors. Particular emphasis is placed on reviewing FAO's experience in mobilizing rapid and innovative responses to the impact of the pandemic on the food sector and in expanding international cooperation in such areas as creating monitoring of the global situation and platforms for discussion and exchange of experience of experts and specialists, analysis of food security risk.; establishing a data collection and analysis system to assess the impact of the pandemic; mobilizing political, financial and technical assistance for countries affected by the general crisis; development of projects and programs for social protection of the most vulnerable groups of the population; dissemination of advanced experience and scientific and technical knowledge. The author shows the possibilities of using the positive experience of the implementation of the agrarian policy of the European countries of FAO in the Russian context and notes the directions of its application.
