FOREIGN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY IN THE SYSTEM OF SUSTAINABILITY FACTORS OF RUSSIAN AGRO-FOOD COMPLEX

Abstract

The growth of uncertainty factors in the functioning of the food market actualizes research aimed at overcoming the negative consequences of their influence and increasing the sustainability of food systems. An assessment of the dynamic and structural indicators of foreign trade activity is necessary for the formation of a new concept for the development of the Russian agro-food complex and the stage of import substitution, as well as for substantiating the system of state support for the country's competitiveness in the global food market. With the growth of dynamic indicators of exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs, a relative stabilization of the product structure was revealed. A decrease in the share of exports of high value-added products is shown. The growth of the export potential of the agro-food complex is carried out by increasing the competitiveness of lower value added products. With a general decrease in the volume of imports of food and agricultural products, the share of upper processing products increased over the period under study and amounted to almost half of imports. Overcoming the negative trends in the development of foreign trade in agro-food products is possible with the structural modernization of the production of the Russian agro-food complex, diversification of exports, strengthening the stability and balance of the domestic food market.
