PRIORITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE RUSSIAN AGRO-FOOD COMPLEX: a review of materials from the All-Russian Scientific Conference in memory of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor V.B. Ostrovsky

Abstract

This article provides an overview of the presentations from the All-Russian Scientific Conference in memory of Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Vladimir Borisovich Ostrovsky. The conference focused on the scientific substantiation of priorities for enhancing the competitiveness and sustainable development of the agro-food complex under modern conditions. Within the conference's chosen thematic scope, interdisciplinary aspects of ensuring Russia's food security were discussed. The most debate was generated by issues related to identifying integration trends in the development strategy of the agro-industrial complex and assessing the factors for the growth of its production potential. A separate thematic session was dedicated to defining the vectors for transforming the institutional environment of the agro-industrial complex within the paradigm of sustainable development. The conference participants also focused on assessing the impact of socio-cultural factors on the sustainable development of not only the agro-food complex but also the country's rural territories.
