Managing the sustainability of the reproduction process in the regional agri-food complex
Abstract
The article examines the specifics of managing the sustainability of the reproduction process in the regional agri-food complex of Saratov Oblast. Based on data for 2020–2024, key reproduction disproportions are identified: a high dependence of crop production outcomes on natural and climatic factors, a decline in productivity and gross grain harvests in 2024, structural shifts between categories of farms, as well as multidirectional trends in livestock production (an increase in egg production alongside a decline in milk production and livestock numbers). The necessity of transitioning from reactive measures to program-targeted management of reproduction sustainability is substantiated, including technological modernization, development of the forage base and land reclamation, expansion of agricultural insurance and risk management, as well as stimulation of investments and cooperation among small-scale farming entities.
