INTERNATIONAL SOCIOLOGICAL ORGANIZATIONS: RESPONSE TO GLOBAL CHALLENGES AND RESTRICTIONS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL SOCIETY
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of modern events of international sociological organizations. It is shown how the topics of the English-language forums held within their framework reflect a wide range of problems of the development of rural society in the context of global challenges and restrictions. The author makes a special emphasis on the study of the activities of the communities of rural sociologists: the International Rural Sociology Association, the Rural Sociology Society and the European Society for Rural Sociology). Based on the analysis, modern trends in the study of social problems of the development of the agri-food complex and rural areas are identified. It was revealed that the main emphasis in the reports presented at the forums is made on the need to improve the quality of life in the globalizing world. At the same time, there is a transition of sociologists from defining generalizing characteristics of modern globalization processes to analyzing specific social changes taking place.
