CONDITIONS FOR REDUCING MONETARY POVERTY OF RURAL POPULATION IN RUSSIA
Abstract
The article analyzes the concept of absolute poverty and the specifics of its application by Rosstat after 2013. The advantages of the concept of relative poverty associated with the simplicity of methodological implementation and visibility are shown. Differences in the interpretation of absolute and relative poverty which determine their unequal weather dynamics are established.
A comparison of the income structure and the socio-demographic structure of the “low-income” and “high-income” rural populations revealed vulnerability to poverty of large families, children, working people compared to pensioners. It has been established that entrepreneurial activity plays a less significant role in overcoming rural poverty than highly paid employment, which is a negative socio-economic factor.
