FEATURES OF AGRICULTURE IN THE BELGOROD REGION: ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL RESULTS
Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the socio-economic characteristics of the existing agrarian structure in the Belgorod Region, the basis of which is large vertically integrated agricultural production. Based on the 2016 agricultural census, an ultrahigh concentration of agricultural production and the role of small forms of farming underestimated in comparison with other regions of Russia are noted. It is shown that the growing tendency to monopolize agricultural production has a negative impact on the reproduction of rural living space in the entirety of its elements.
Using materials from expert interviews, problems in the development of small entrepreneurship in rural areas of the Belgorod Region are identified. They cast doubt on the preservation of the effectiveness of the system of agricultural holdings in the context of the transition to a new agricultural technological structure.
